CBD vs. THC: What’s the Difference?

First things first though, some simple word association might have you (understandably, but wrongly) assuming that CBD can get you "high." After all, CBD stands for cannabidiol. Cannabidiol sounds like cannabis. Cannabis (is a hemp plant, but) in drug form is, indeed, pot. Weed. Ganja. Marijuana. You remember!

But it’s actually a different three-letter abbreviation that gets you high—THC—while CBD keeps you calm and carrying on without that, uh, classic cerebral "sensation."

So now you’re probably wondering what the difference is between the two. Turns out they differ quite a bit in terms of their legality and how they interact with your body, but have similarities in regards to their origins and beneficial properties.
