Want to make sure you’re getting the best CBD?
Check out our vetting tips below:
HEMP SOURCE IS QUEEN
It’s best sourced from farms that are certified organic or growing according to organic standards.
Hemp is a bioaccumulator (science talk for: it will suck up any pesticides or chemicals in the soil around it)
High quality hemp can be found in the US (Europe used to be the safest option). Colorado, Oregon and Kentucky have the most established hemp farming programs.
EXTRACTION METHOD
Stay away from toxic chemicals.
The two most used and trusted extraction methods are:
CONCENTRATION OF THC
If it’s hemp-based, make sure your CBD has less than 0.3% THC. Otherwise, you may experience unwanted psychoactive effects.
TYPE of CBD EXTRACT
There’s a lot of debate about “Full Spectrum” CBD vs. Isolate but each can be useful.
Bottom line: full spectrum is great if you want to experience the full effects of the cannabis plant.
Isolate is best when you want to be sure you’re getting a consistent dose and avoid THC.
TESTING
At this point, testing is a basic requirement for any legitimate CBD brand.
Ideally, your CBD product should be tested for:
POTENCY
(does it really have the amount of CBD listed on the label?)
PESTICIDES
RESIDUAL SOLVENTS
HEAVY METALS
MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTAMINANTS (BACTERIA)
