What 6 Celebs Are Saying About CBD

Earlier this year, as Kim Kardashian prepared for the arrival of her fourth child, she planned a CBD-themed baby shower, complete with a sound bath(!), and told attendees, “No ad, [CBD has] been how I survive in life, so because I’m freaking out and the baby is coming in two weeks, I thought what better way to celebrate than to have a little CBD?...I thought it’d be cool for us to do, to zen out on a Saturday, so everyone have a puff or put on some oil!”

(Prior to that, she’d taken to Instagram to share her love for the CBD salve from Beverly Hills-based spa Pellequr, writing, “Anyone that knows me knows that I am obsessed with CBD everything! This is not an ad lol.”)

But she’s not the only celebrity singing CBD’s praises. Much like us, several others have gone public in expressing their adoration for the natural ingredient. Here’s what they’re saying:

KRISTEN BELL on pain

In talking to The Strategist about the items she can’t live without, the actress picked Lord Jones’ High CBD Body Lotion, saying: “This was a huge game-changer. A few months ago, my back started hurting for some unbeknownst reason. It had been bothering me for about two weeks. My friend came over for dinner and I was complaining about my back and she ran to her purse and pulled out this CBD cream. I was very skeptical at first. I had already done some research on CBD, so I knew it was safe, but I thought, there’s no way this is actually going to help. But I’m a very good co-dependent, so I put it on my back and honestly, 5 minutes after I did, I already felt 85 percent better. I am completely sold. Now, I’m giving it out left and right, practically to strangers on the street. Everyone deserves to feel 100 percent.”

MANDY MOORE on pain

While prepping for the Golden Globes last year, the This Is Us actress told Coveteur: “I always try to choose really comfortable shoes, because as I’ve gotten older I just can’t hack being in heels for an extended period of time. Last year I thought I had gone for a pair of comfortable heels, but by the end of the night I was in so much pain I felt like I was walking on glass, so I kind of ended the evening early—although honestly, I’ll find any excuse for an early night. This year I’m trying some CBD oil on my feet, which my stylist [Erica Cloud] recommended. I asked her if there was some kind of numbing cream, and she was like, ‘No! [Try] Lord Jones CBD Oil.’ So it could be a really exciting evening! I could be floating this year.”

ALESSANDRA AMBROSIO on sleep

Back in 2017, after participating in 17 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows, the supermodel revealed she’d be retiring from the annual event. But before doing so, she shared with Well+Good how she prepared herself for the runway, saying, “The most important thing to do is to sleep eight hours the night before. It’s hard because the mind gets anxious, so I try CBD oil and I think it helps.”

LEIGHTON MEESTER on stress

Meester’s former Gossip Girl character Blair Waldorf would likely approve of the actress’ affinity for treating herself to some selfcare. She told Shape, "I do little touches during the day to make myself feel more centered or rejuvenated. I drink my tea in the morning, have an essential oil diffuser in my trailer, and use a foam roller to give myself a massage whenever I have a chance. I use CBD balm to try to reduce the stress and tension in my shoulders and hands. And I'll make my bath as relaxing an experience as I can with essential oils and salts, maybe do a hair mask or under-eye patches.”

OLIVIA WILDE on pain

While talking to The New York Timesthe actress recalled her time performing live on stage, saying, "I did a play on Broadway for six months. My body was wrecked, [and] my neck was really tight. The CBD has relaxing benefits, and the idea is to avoid using too many painkillers."

BUSY PHILIPPS on anxiety

After sharing with Health that she's been experiencing anxiety since she was a child, the actress and author recalled a more recent incident, saying, “I was in New York and almost the whole day was, like, a full panic attack. Part of it was circumstantial, part of it was being away from my family, and I hadn’t been working out as much. For me, getting the endorphins and the sweat every morning is part of what I think helps me keep it in check. I’ve also done acupuncture for it; the infrared sauna helps, and the CBD and THC gummies, which I’m a very strong proponent of now.”
