Recipe: CBD Chocolate Mousse

We’re sure you’ve heard that chocolate can make you, well, happy. After all, it contains serotonin—the neurotransmitter that controls mood. And cacao also contains small amounts of anandamide (a small molecule naturally produced in our bodies). Referred to lovingly as “the bliss molecule” because of its mood enhancing properties, anandamide was the first endocannabinoid discovered in the human brain. And CBD, another cannabinoid, has been found to “enhance” anandamide’s signaling in the body, helping it make us all feel that much better.

All that to say, it sure sounds like CBD and chocolate are a match made in happiness heaven, and we’ve got just the recipe for blending both.

Created by nutritionist Liv Kaplan, this sugar-free chocolate mousse combines dark chocolate, healthy saturated fats, and powerful adaptogens to combat your stresses and satisfy your sweet tooth.


60ml coconut cream

¼ tsp ashwagandha

¼ tsp rhodiola

30g dark chocolate

2 droppers of Hemple Sigma 300mg

Cacao nibs to serve


Gently heat coconut cream in a saucepan over a low heat.

Pour over dark chocolate and stir until melted.

Stir in adaptogens and Hemple CBD.

Serve topped with cacao nibs!
