Coffee, quiet time, and a workout. I like to wake up early while my husband and son are still asleep. After pouring my morning coffee, I sit down at my computer and dive straight into work. I filter my unread emails, add things to my to-do list (I use Asana and love it), and review my calendar for the day. It is relaxing for me to get a head start on the day and to be able to work in silence. I’m typically out the door by 8 a.m. and off to BoxUnion for a class. A morning workout is a must for me and sets the tone for my entire day. I’m happiest when I’m sweaty and exerting myself physically.
I often find myself in the car driving across town from one BoxUnion location to the other. If I don’t have calls scheduled and can’t catch up with a friend or family member during my commute, I’m likely to listen to a podcast or a book on Audible. Some of my favorite podcasts include: Wild Ideas Worth Living, All the Wiser, Life Will be the Death of Me, How I Built This, Work Life with Adam Grant, and The Tim Ferriss Show.
I love to take walks with my husband (and son when he joins us) and catch up on our day. I’m trying to take more time at night to decompress and not spend the entire evening in front of my computer or looking at my phone. I do enjoy a good TV show and find mindless activities are a perfect way to come down from the day.
